Frequently asked questions
- Is this accounting software?
- No. It's a quick way to see where your money went. Always check the figures before you file with the IRS or HMRC, or share them with your accountant.
- Is my bank data uploaded anywhere?
- No. The CSV is read in your browser and never leaves your device.
- How are categories chosen?
- Simple keyword rules on each description, such as “rent”, “Stripe”, or “insurance”. Anything that doesn't match goes under Other income or Other expense.
- Are positive amounts treated as income?
- Yes. Positive amounts count as income and negative amounts as expenses. If your bank shows money going out as positive numbers, flip the sign in those rows before you upload.
